Cyanotype printing on paper - suitable for 8+ years
Join visual artist Lisa Shepherd in an introduction to the historic alternative photographic process of cyanotypes which are a form of camera-less photography.
After an introduction to the history of cyanotypes and how they are created, you will be shown how to safely mix and coat the solutions and then expose your design with ultraviolet light to produce beautiful Prussian blue-coloured artworks. You will be guided in design composition and shown how to create visually pleasing artwork step-by-step.
You'll learn all aspects of the process including making cyanotypes from digital negatives, feathers, lace, doilies, stencils and paper cutouts. Be thrilled when you expose your image to reveal beautiful images, it never fails to delight.
During this workshop you will be printing on paper and you will make three artworks to take home. You will also receive one square matt board to pop your favourite piece in ready for framing.
This class is the perfect opportunity to learn all about cyanotypes in a relaxed friendly environment. It is an introduction to the technique and will give you the skills to work independently at home afterwards.
