Absolute Beginners Wheel Throwing is the perfect class for those with zero pottery experience. This short course is an excellent way to try your hand at wheel throwing. You'll learn the essentials of working with a pottery wheel, from clay basics to creating functional pottery pieces. Our supportive environment ensures you'll gain hands-on experience, develop creative skills, and enjoy the therapeutic nature of pottery whilst our experienced teacher Sol guides your through the process. Join us on Tuesday evenings and discover the joy of transforming clay into beautiful creations. This class is the ideal starting point for your pottery journey. Should you wish to continue on after the completion our 9 week term classes will be perfect for you to continue developing your skills once you have learnt the basics.
This class is 4 sessions over 5 weeks. The first 3 weeks will be spent learning to throw and how to clean and trim your work. At week 4 there will be a scheduled 1 week break to allow for firing and then you will return to the studio for one shorter lesson where you can learn to glaze your works.
We recommend bringing along an old towel and an apron to protect your clothes. Please wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy. All basic tools are provided by the studios however we do have toolkit available for purchase if you would prefer your own set of tools.
